TOPIC: A Judge with Commonsense?

A Judge with Commonsense? 14 Years, 5 Months ago
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1232157...17-freed-appeal.html

Two Teenagers convicted of statutory rape of a 12 yo have been freed after the Court of Appeal heard the girl had been 'promiscuous and lied about her age.'

They both had their young lives ruined after a 4 year sentence for statutory rape was previously passed.
Of course the girl's mother was horrified, but again having to admit your daughter is a liar can be a real shock too.

Age is very hard to determine when girls dress up,she lied about her age,and sent the boys provocative texts. There was also evidence she had consensual sex with 4 other men before the incident.

Kids mature at different rates, and if consent is given then do we really want to wreck the lives of kids over this? She pretended to be 17,and was probably as much in the driving seat as the boys.
She's old enough to be held responsible for
committing crimes, but not old enough to consent to sex.Notice the crime was 'statutory rape',meaning even though consent was given it was not her choice to give.

Is the tide turning? Is the legal system not as daft as before? Dame Anne Rafferty is a brave woman, unlike the people in the Home Office.
