Went to the annual Longford lecture... Sir Hugh Orde, formerly Chief Constable of the Northern Ireland Police Service, and since September Head of ACPO, the Association of Chief Police Officers. Though he may be boring - everyone knows that I am deeply suspicious of ACPO...... So was there anything that he said that backs my belief that ACPO want to run "Policy" rather than just act as a professional organisation ?
