Can everybody please stop panic buying milk, you are ruining it for everyone else by your own selfishness.

Every time I go into the supermarket there is no milk on the shelves as it has all been sold out within 1 hour. People are stocking up like there is an inpending nuclear war or something.

It is the same when there is the slightest hint of a petrol shortage, people fill up their tanks and exasperate the problem. This it the very same thing that brought down Northen Rock. People started drawing out their money as soon as their was a hint of an issue and thus it becomes a self-fullfilling prophecy.
Be sensible there is enough bread and milk for everyone.

Our local village shops have been the main victims of panic buying, as people don't want to travel into the main town. We dropped into Tescos, on our main high street, and they were fully stocked with milk and bread. For a Friday it was quite surprising.

panic buying is sheep-like behaviour.... but if others start doing it you can easily find yourself caught up in it.

Fortunately for me my only problem is that my corner shop is out of soya milk. I miss it but I will cope lol

In rural areas especially in villages where there are hills then I can understand people stocking up for the weather.

In towns and Cities there is no point ( apart from having your own stash of emergency food - which as you know you should have in the house at all times in any case for survival purposes in case of any terror attack or civil breakdown - have you watched Day of the Triffids - Survivors etc )
