Councils have run out of Salt/grit : roads mashed everywhere 14 Years, 3 Months ago
Gordon BROWN said there was enough salt and grit which should have been a warning that everything would go wrong.

Roads are closed especially in Wales - Devon - Yorkshire - and in Harrow and Barnet our roads have not been touched. If the snow gets worse or the ice then even the main roads will become impassable.

Our GOVERNMENT has shown it is not fit to govern. We pay loads of Council Tax these days yet the Councils cant even keep the roads open. That is appalling.

This is now beginning to become like the WINTER OF DISCONTENT - but this time rubbish is piling up and businesses are closed - not because of strikes but DIRECTLY because of GORDON BROWN and his short sighted policies and the fact that he has wasted loads of money on vanity projects like WARS and silly GIVEAWAYS.

The first thing he should ensure is that the roads and rail should not stop unless the weather is really really extreme. A little bit of snow today and the whole thing has broken down again.

The media is not showing the full picture - most train lines are not operating a timetable and some are completely closed. I have had to cancel all my meetings today because no-one can get into London. This is shocking in 2010.

We need an election and to get a Government that does not waste our money.

But wasn't it under the Tories when trains were halted by falling leaves in the Autumn? I'm not a Labour fan but not everything was good under the last government. Public transport has always been dire whomever has been in charge and I'm not certain Cameron will have it at the top of his list of priorities. We shall wait and see...
