Shocking : this show should be taken off air 14 Years, 3 Months ago
www.digitalspy.co.uk/broadcasting/news/a...ed-the-one-show.html

The BBC Sacked Carol Thatcher for far less.

It is time this political broadcast on behalf of the New Labour junta which pretends to be light entertainment is taken off the air.

Far worse than anything Russell Brand has done or Carol Thatcher.

Time for the BBC to act to try and regain its reputation.

Come the election no-one working on this show should be employed by the BBC either.

I dont pay my license in order to support ANY political party.

Gosh, I haven't watched the One Show very much so can't say how biased it is one way or another. I do watch This Week on Thursday nights and that tends to ridicule Labour quite a lot, but they do have a go at other parties too.

I guess it all balances out to some extent.

Yes I saw this and it was unashamedly biased, basically saying "don't vote for the Tory toffs, they're not like you or me!" but never once questioning the pedigree of Gordon Brown etc. It was basically an advert for NuLabour.
Well, I reckon that snivelling prat Adrian Chiles is quite like a NuLabour politico, very well off and unfeasibly well-connected.

On a lighter note did anyone catch the show they did with Peter Kay on, he was mercilessly taking the piss throughout both of the show ("It's like Pebble Mill on acid!") and of Chiles, who was bristling at being upstaged (didn't help that Christine Bleakley was in hysterics throughout), at one point saying to a visibly riled Chiles "What did you do to get this gig, eh? Who did you blackmail, boy?"

It sounds like stating facts to me, Cameron is a toff and the tories represent the middle-classes. However so do Labour. They are run by big businesses. Things like mass immigration really damage the working classes, by increasing unemployment and depressing wages. This helps the middle class bosses by providing them with cheap labour.

I can tell you that most of these complaints came about as a result of a direct appeal by Tory blogger Iain Dale, who encouraged people to complain, both on his blog and on Twitter.
Similar to the whole Sachsgate thing in many respects if you ask me.

(I have been a bit quiet on here lately, haven't I?).

I happened to see it (though I'm no fan of The One Show) and it struck me straight away as being ridiculously biased to the point of parody, and I'm no tory (...but then again I'm no nulabour sucky-uppy either).

Spitting Image would have had great fun ripping The One Show & Mr Chiles

You have to remember shows like 'Spitting Image' were incredibly anti-tory and most alternative comedy for that matter. Mrs Thatch and Norman Tebbit were demonised on this show, even to the point where it was suggested Mrs Thatcher had male genitalia and could use urinals.

The difference between the brilliant Spitting Image and The One Show is that one was a comedy show after the watershed on Sunday night where the Government of the day was the target ( legitimately ) and not trying to influence an election campaign.

The One Show is blatantly electioneering on behalf of New Labour which is frankly ridiculous in prime time daily weekday show.

New Labour have lost all their money so cant take on the Tories with advertising. Therefore they are going to use the BBC to trumpet their policies.

Their only policy is that "Cameron is a Toff" - but they seem to forget that Blair went to an even more exclusive school and most of the New Labour cabinet equally went to Oxford and Cambridge.

This in itself is not an awful thing - though it does match the idea that a small elite control us all !!

But voting for TOFF BROWN is no different than TOFF CAMERON - it is basically a TOFFS election as has already been pointed out. In fact the vote is between a SCOTTISH SET OF TOFFS and an ENGLISH SET OF TOFFS. Me - I live in England and so will vote for the English toffs in the same way I will be supporting England in the World Cup until they get knocked out in the second round.

I don't see many working class heroes on the Labour benches these days. Under Blair (who, like Brown, is very middle class), many young college grads got into the Labour front ranks. He knew that filling the benches with yet more Dennis Skinners was not going to win them any elections. John Prescott was the token working class wally.

Most working class people have more intelligence than Brown gives them credit for. They can easily see through his class arguments, no matter how many TV shows he tries to manipulate. Though they might agree that Cameron is a toff, they can see he isn't trying to pretend not to be.
