City v United 14 Years, 3 Months ago
City being the team with the most money I have to assume that the players are paid a considerable wage, but on the first half performance they don't deserve a penny of it. I've never seen such a sloppily conceded goal or such a careless attitude to a cup semi final.

In real time City's penalty did look deserved, even though slow motion replay showed the foul was outside the area. The ref doesn't make decisions in slow motion, so he cannot be blamed for an undeserved penalty. If Man Utd had been given a penalty under the same circumstances, they would have insisted it was valid. That's how the game goes.

City did pick up in in the later part of the first half. Hopefully we'll have less time wasting and better football in the second half.

Not sure why Tevez was taken off, but the guy who replaced him seems to be incredibly lazy. He's playing like every step is an effort.

Five added minutes. City playing with a casually careless attitude again. Their fans, and their investor, deserve more effort. Why do so many "top" defenders turn their backs on the strikers. It shows how weak Man Utd have become that they can play against such a poor defence and still struggle to score.

Finally, the whistle. Well done Tevez. Can't say the same for the rest of the City players.

The second half was very good, with city showing a great sence of urgency and Tevez getting 2 goals against his former team (1 pen in the first half). City could have had much more as the United defence was woefull, however city chose to defend their league.

If that is the best the Premier League can now offer - then it is finished.

Ronaldo - Henry - Bergcamp - Cantona - the Premier League has had some brilliant players.

At the moment it seems to have the makeweights.

Man Utd look in a very poor state since Ronaldo has left.

Ah but Wayne Rooney's feet were stunning - 8 years ago I predicted we'd win the World Cup if Rooney survived; sadly he didn't but if he does this year, with feet like that it's Wayne vs Christiano - again!

Unfortunately Rooney seldom shines for his nation.

International football requires different skills and temperament. England play a hit and hope tactic while the likes of Brazil and Portugal learn how to keep possession and truly control the ball.

Rooney can run but his finishing ability has declined over the years. Defoe is a much better prospect for England than Rooney ever was. I can't see us winning anything until we have a complete change of attitude.
