Anyone yet seen this? Watched it last night and it wasn't bad at all. It surrounds apparently 'true' accounts of alien abduction in Nome, Alaska. Don't like giving too much away, but much of the film is reenactments of former abductees who undergo psychotherapy and hypnosis to recount their traumatic experiences. Some very disturbing and spooky moments indeed.

...oh and incidentally a close encounter of the first kind is 'sighting of a UFO'... second kind...evidence of aliens...crop circles etc'.... third kind...contact with aliens...Fourth Kind...alien abduction.

This movie is a world away from Spielberg's vision of alien 'friends' in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. As one Nome abductee puts it, 'the one thing I recall from my experience is the sheer hopelessness I felt'. I wonder if New Labour were behind it.

This certainly isn't a feel good movie.

I saw one a few years ago called "Fire in the Sky" which as about the true story of a man's disappearance in Arizona. His friends were suspected by the local sheriff of murdering him, but they claimed he had been abducted by aliens. Scorch marks were found on the ground, but few believed their story until the the man turned up a few days afterwards in a very shaken state.

The film starred James Garner and Henry Thomas and was quite well made.

Yes, that was a good film Emma. Always in the states though these alien abductions. Wonder why that is? Talking of which I remember JK on a late night Pebble Mill show promoting ET before it swept through the UK. He was wearing 'springy anttenae' on his head...and they later were all the craze over here. Must have been 1981/82.

I am changing my mind about aliens.

I think they are here now based on my experiences over the last few years and reading up on this.

They look like us by the way - not green and certainly you could be talking to one of them today and unless you know exactly the give away signs then you would not be aware.

Supposedly the new FULL BODY SCANNERS actually are there to detect these "aliens" - and that actually makes sense.

I cant believe New Labour would spend loads of money on this - because it does not work for TERRORISM.

Perhaps TERRORISM is Government code for ALIEN WARS.

I am beginning to think it possibly is - because I see no real terror threat at all - the Muslims the media paint as terrorists are religious types who are pushing their own agenda. If they were real terrorists then where are their bombs and guns ? and why are they not in hiding as well ? Not terrorists at all.

The botched POLICE operations possibly have happened because these aliens have infiltrated some of London's Police stations. They have given FALSE intelligence and caused such events as the FOREST GATE FIASCO to undermine the Police.

What evidence have i for any of this - all I can say is that I have seen it with my own eyes but dont really want to elaborate.

This is also the reason why GARY McKINNON is wanted by the USA. He found evidence of the secret programme to deal with these critters. That is also supposedly where the "black hole" money has gone - hence the fact they wont clobber the banks too hard because the money has been syphoned off in order to fight these alien invaders.

Why dont they tell us ? Well can you imagine the panic !!! everyone would be storming scanners everywhere trying to check everyone.......and there would be real chance of civil riots accross the world once people realise how much they have been lied to.......

After seeing the excellent Avatar it's clear - the aliens are US.

We are probably alien to this planet I agree - the evidence points towards that - I dont go along with evolution quite simply because humans are too complex and have intelligent design. Evolution would not create us.

still, it's more exciting to think we are all aliens than that we are just here, isn't it!

If evolution happened on Earth then it would happen on EVERY planet with a source of some sort of water. The moon has water - Mars has water - there is no life on those planets that we know of.

Therefore, why Earth ? why us ? it seems arrogant to think we are the only ones in the universe when our planet is so small - so small it is almost a particle in the general scheme of things.

I dont know exactly what Icke thinks about aliens - I have not read every book of his - but I am sure he does not think we are the only ones in the Universe.

Aliens may be just like us or not. They may even exist in other dimensions. Science is chasing this as we type.

It was Carl Sagan who said 'there are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on every beach on earth...' Sagan's 'Cosmos' btw was the greatest ever TV series that explored the universe and I wish they'd repeat it.
