Re:Federer-Murray 14 Years, 3 Months ago
an explanation for what ?...JC has said it all. You don't think anyone at the school wasn't affected by it ?

Actually to show how insensitive the tabloids are (The Sun)..they sent one of their star photographers up on an anniversary and wondered why many of the kids began weeping. He was a dead ringe rfor the killer which everyone on Fleet Street had already pointed out.

I'm bewildered why your amazement actually came into this thread. He's triumphed many times since that awful day. Why make comment now? Can you imagine the headline if he'd won? "Ex school massacre survivor wins Grand Slam!" Its history Veritas, best left in the past.

And maybe Veritas' comment would have been quietly passed over and left in the past too, if you hadn't made an issue out of it, Angel.

I think JK is warming to Mr Murray...as I am. I'm trying to think of some genuinely attractive red haired men...and no...I wouldn't class Murray as a redhead. I don't think it's so much the hair colouring as the pale insipid complexion often associated with genuine redheads, which some find very unattractive. Paul Scholes? Oh god no...great footballer though. Mick Hucknall? No no. Rupert Grint? I've got one. Mr Interesting himself Steve Davis. A bottom to die for...which incidentally will be the title of my book charting my early life in and around South London. Doubt I'll sell as many copies as JK's though.

err..no.I don't write the headlines or cause them.

Yes..I am amazed that anyone survives a disaster no matter how small their part is in it. What-if we leave it in the past does that mean it didn't happen or something ? Perhaps he's an inspiration to others from the same time. I'm not into making subjects or the past taboo.

I'm baffled at your comment Veritas. His childhood experience is irrelevant now. It may have been some time ago when he entered the professional arena.

I think I may disagree that his childhood is not related to how he is now..but I take onboard your comments.

We could say that a person should not mention they are a concentration camp survivor and so on..or an abuse survivor !!

But I admit it's a touchy subject.

But I do belieive everything that happens to us shapes our older lives...that said..I wouldn't be so crass as to roll up to him and bring up the subject if I were ever fortunate enough to meet the man.

But if he were ever to write his life story (and I devour autobiographies) I would expect him to mention his early life.
