The recession is continuing and as I travel around the UK it is becoming clear that many businesses are on the verge of going under. Whole roads in shopping streets are empty and the general feeling is that worse is to come.

The Stock Market has been kept up by FUNNY MONEY of qE/ That is now over and the markets are starting to fall. There could be a crash at any time as people take their money out to protect their position. Small investors will be hardest hit again because they will be last to get out/.

In terms of Global Trade - The Euro is falling fast because Greece has gone bankrupt threatening to pull the whole Euro down with it - this was always the problem for the Eurozone and shows why it was right for us not to join. The Pound is already devalued I might add by QE and that is why goods from abroad have gone up by 30% in the last months.

My advice has always been to invest in hard assetts where possible - firstly protecting your food and sanitation. E.g Spare Camping Gas burners in case of power cuts. Candles. Windable torches. Camping toilet. Then having a stash of easily cookable food that would last up to 3 months. Also having a SEED BANK that could provide you with basic veg and spices and herbs if the food supply was greatly disprupted at any point.

This is good risk management - because as Haiti has shown - we are ALL just one day away from total disaster. In the UK we are unlikely to have a big earthquake - but other things could happen to disrupt our power and food supply.

Watching SURVIVORS on BBC 1 this series again reminds us all that despite our technology we are very vulnerable as a species.
