Front page bollocks in the tabloids - they love the "Sex Offender has boiling water and sugar splashed on him" identikit tales... 99% of the time it's totally fictional rubbish and here's why.
The VP (vulnerable prisoners) wing is the place everybody in jail wants to be these days. Mainly middle aged or elderly men jailed - rightly or wrongly - for sex offences claimed from 40 years ago - they are better run, cleaner and not full of thieves stealing from each other. Most of the VPs in the "nonce" wings are honest, decent, law abiding citizens who would never steal from another inmate.
Anyone lucky enough to be on those wings would never risk being bounced back onto "the main" - quite apart from the danger of being a "nonce" amongst decent killers, muggers and robbers, they far prefer the extra privileges and better hygiene on the VP wings. There is nothing to gain and a lot to lose causing trouble.
Tabloid journos (no imagination and originality) churn these rubbish-by-numbers photocopy stories out every day.

So does that happen in every prison that loads of Vicars - Tory Voters - famous people - and grey haired law abiding citizens end up in this seperate wing ? Do they mix at all with ordinary murderers and robbers ? and would MPs in prison end up on the VP wing do you think ?
I have absolutely no idea what a prison is like having never ever set foot in one at all....thank goodness - though with New Labour trying to arrest anyone who blogs and speaks out against them I would say that many people are closer to a prison career than ever before in their life.

Yes indeed BR - the VP wings (I called them the VIP wings) house vicars, teachers, MPs, police and sex offenders - and are the calmest, cleanest, best run wings which all the officers prefer working on.
Far from the tabloid picture. The media, of course, prefers readers not to know this.

Yes, at Risley the VP wings had a mix of inmates ranging from sex offenders to fraudsters, car thieves, ex police, informants, etc. The atmosphere was calm compared to the other "houses". Not only did many inmates prefer to be on there but the staff preferred to be assigned there too. Any trouble makers were usually given a 7am ship out.

If Labour win the next election BR, I can see you winding up in the Tower by the Autumn. You are a serial boat rocker.
