he's become quite ghastly. He was cringe making in the Brits; his chat shows are unwatchable; his radio unlistenable - and his script and delivery tonight have completely lost it.

I gave him his first job.

Shame.

agree to all the above ( except I didn't give him a job)

he needs to re-invent himself or go a completely different path.

He simply needs to relax more, calm down and stop trying to be funny. When he first started out on The Last Resort he was terrific. Great delivery, laid back and entertaining. Now he's become a characature of himself. And unlike some people I wasn't offended by his prank phone calls to Sachs...I just found it incredibly tiresome.

It's as if he's having some late mid-life crisis all of a sudden - doing a Chris Evans but without the booze to blame. Maybe he's in denial at pushing 50? He was painful at the Brits dressed up like Harry Enfield's Kevin the Teenager.

Yes, it's very sad. Maybe at some stage he got so used to reading Danny Baker's scripts he thought he was as witty as Danny Baker. He used to be a real enthusiast - e.g his interviews with Frankie Howerd - and now he's consumed by his own sense of 'image'. A great shame.

I was 100% on his side during Mailgate but his reaction to it has damaged him far more than the scandal itself. He seems afraid of his own shadow. He's also reached the age where his image needs a real update - not a downdate, as on The Brits.

I think we're seeing the end of Jonathan Ross which is a shame.
