Awful. In a format nicked from several other shows, with the most irritating graphics ever invented (sort of Disney by Jade Goody), with him trying to be Cowell meets Sugar... it was possibly the worst TV show I have ever seen, topped off by a "if Gordon can cry on telly so can I" sequence which curdled the blood.
Re:Michael Winner last night 14 Years, 2 Months ago
It was originally intended as a cheap daytime show, then ITV decided, with plenty of spin, to put four episodes out in the evenings. I can't believe they'll make any more. It really was desperate stuff. And as for that ludicrous idea of stars for 'historic' cooking or something even better - well, it was almost as bad as watching a Michael Winner movie. Didn't the BBC do a similar series with the old goat a few years ago when he stayed the night at 'ordinary' people's houses? What IS it with Winner and strangers' houses?
Re:Michael Winner last night 14 Years, 2 Months ago
Yes it was predictible stuff, with Winner slating the north and frowning upon the working class as he did on another show called "Its grim up north". Then there was the faux tears as he listened to the mother with a son born with half and heart and a daughter with cerebral palsy. He described Wilmslow as been the home of the flat cap, it's one of the richest towns in England!!!. It would be watchable in a daytime slot for half an hour, but not 1 hour peak time friday evening.
