I have no problem at all with John Terry's private life - it's his football skills that interest me and they seem pretty good. But watching the fantastic Stevie Gerrard last night - I've always thought he should be Captain and have said so for years.

Hear hear! He's a decent, modest, thoughtful person as well as a world class player. Apparently many hardbitten hacks were amazed and impressed by how moved and proud he seemed when he collected his Player of the Year award last year. Normally the winner swans up chewing gum and mumbles something half-hearted. Gerrard's a gent.
