In a week which has seen three senior New Labour politicos with their pants not only down but actually off it was refreshing to see a piece of almost breathtaking honesty. Not from Ms. Rantzen herself, but from the always excellent Dianne Abbott. Esther wishes to portray herself as cleaner than clean, so it's probably only right and proper that she got a little practice in ahead of time. Dianne made such good use of Esther that the This Week studio floor will not be needing another scrub up for some time to come. New brooms, they say, often sweep clean. But they have to have a good head on them {something I suspect Ms. Rantzen possibly doesn't have} or all the bristles fall out the first time they're put to use.

As soon as I heard she was going to be on I switched off. I'm all for giving people a fair hearing but she's had various chances and proved herself beyond ridiculous every time. Enter code here Please note: although no board code and smiley buttons are shown, they are still usable.
