London Marathon 14 Years ago
I know this site isn't really about asking for sponsorship, however this is a major news event this weekend. Also others have used this site for plugging portable blu-ray players.

The London Marathon has 30,000 runners, 1 million + spectators, lots of bands, entertainers, and cheer leaders along the route and its all free.

I will be running in aid of Alzheimers society which aims to improve the quality of life for people suffering from dementia and help find a cure. You may sponsor me by clicking on the following link.

I have been posting on this site for several years, hopefully keeping you entertained and sometimes making your blood boil. However this time I'm doing something good and hopefully some of you will support me.

All the best Robbie. I'd be stone cold dead after the first half mile.

Hi Robbie, we've clashed a fair bit on here, but I wish you the best of luck in the marathon- it looks like a good cause you're supporting.

Do report back on how it goes.

Thanks David, At least we can exercise free speech on this forum without anyone trying to crush opinions that they don't agree with, like new labour (and probably tories too)

Back to the race, I just hope it isn't going to be too hot, I'm quite fair so don't do hot weather.

I completed the Marathon in 4hours 30 minutes. The last 6 miles were murder.
It was a great experience, with the atmosphere from the crowd and I'm pleased that I've done it now, but NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Congratulations on a job well done. I doubt if I could do it in 4 and a half days! I'd need that long for the breaks for coffee and a cigar... hope it was a success fund-raising wise too. Well done again.
