TOPIC: Clegg brilliant on Marr
#57132
Clegg brilliant on Marr 14 Years ago
Far more grounded, sensible and honest than the other two wankers.
I've sent him the following letter suggesting he finishes next week's BBC debate with this kind of speech.

"Gordon Brown is a decent, honourable man with the best intentions. But he has been an appalling Prime Minister.

David Cameron is likewise a fine human being but I suspect he would also be a terrible Prime Minister.

Would I be any better? Quite possibly not. But I can promise you one thing - I will try harder than both of them put together.

It is considered unlikely that I shall become Prime Minister, even if more people vote Liberal Democrat than either other party, because of the extraordinary and unfair system in Britain.

But there is one chance that we can indeed take over Government and change the old system and that is if everyone of you who wants to see a radically different shape of Great Britain votes Lib Dem.

That would be the greatest upset of the tired old applecart ever in the history of elections. Over to you."

Blair had very similar responses back in 1997. Young, dashing, charming, articulate. A much better speaker than his rivals. How could he possibly fail to be a good PM?

We all know how that ended.

We need to look beyond the superficial.

I've never been a Clegg fan but I am now. He came across as the real thing.
