As clearly expressed by Strasbourg where the Court of Human Rights told the UK government in no uncertain terms to correct the inability of prisoners to vote "before the forthcoming general election".
The government has not done so.
Which means every one of Britain's 86,000 inmates is entitled to around £750 compensation if they choose to apply.
