Well, Conor you appear to take the Self Righteous Prig Of The Day award.
I've been coming here for quite a while and I have never {let me repeat that in case you didn't hear me... never} seen, heard or in any way experienced the owner lecture anyone. Indeed, the only people who do tend to lecture are the odd trolls like yourself who take upon themselves the role of Public Avenger. Some times we bluster here. Sometimes we argue, and sometimes we even accuse each other of things which, perhaps, we shouldn't. Yet there is one guiding principle which remains unspoken, remains unwritten and remains the consensual view. The principle of tolerance. I'm an ex con too, the recipient of a conviction I deserved and make no argument with. I've done my time {as has JK} and, like him, made the most of my time inside and came out a hopefully better person. Like JK I contribute as much as I take out. Unlike JK I hold my hands up and say "I was guilty". He maintains his innocence, as is his perfect right. While I was inside I met lots of people who claimed to be innocent. Some were obvious liars, some were clearly in denial. And quite a few of them were perfectly plausible. The law of averages says that some of those - if not all - were indeed the victims of miscarriages of justice. They certainly happen, as even an idiot like you must realise. In short, I learned enough to know that just because the papers say "guilty" that doesn't always make it so.
You make it clear that you're unsympathetic to JK's point of view. And for whatever reason you judge to be valid choose to troll here.
May I invite you, sir, in the politest possible terms, to Fuck Off?

That has to be one of your best posts yet, Locked Out. Agree with every word and particularly like the punch line at the end!
I agree with not only Locked Out, but also In The Know and BR on this (crikey BR- I'm agreeing with you!)
Firstly, you need to get acquainted with JK's case a bit more thoroughly. I think BR's suggestion of watching Vile Pervert The Musical is a good start. It's a bit dodgy for the first 15 minutes (sorry JK!) but really gets going and makes some really eye-opening declarations about his case. I really didn't have much time for him before seeing the film, but it has opened my eyes even wider than they were before about the workings of the media and the judicial system.
I have no way of knowing whether he was innocent or not but am prepared to take him at his word. After all, no one has sued him over Vile Pervert (unless he's not telling).
Sometimes I wonder why I keep coming back here when we're all mad as a box of frogs and very different, but it is the freedom of expression on this message board which I find very refreshing. As Locked Out said, we have skirmishes on here, as we are a very diverse bunch of folks with often passionate views.
I think the character of a web forum reflects its owner, and I think that is true here. I kind of regard this site as the Monster Raving Loony Party of the web, but in a good way. It is also a bastion of free speech. As In The Know wrote, JK has published your comments about him publicly on this site, so don't knock him.
Find out more about the owner of this site and you may come to like him.
