Theresa May stops McKinnon extradition ! 13 Years, 11 Months ago
www.thefirstpost.co.uk/63577,news-commen...-extradition-on-hold

Fantastic news - and let us hope that the courts say there is no case to answer.

NASA should be awarding this guy a job - he showed up how lax their security was....on a 56K modem no less. Their systems were an open door with no password security in place.

LABOUR have acted disgracefully in this case - cowtowing to the USA Terror State who cant do not wrong since 9.11.

Now at last we seem to have a GOVERNMENT that believes in JUSTICE and FREEDOM and TRUTH.

VIVA LA COALTION !!!

More put on hold for re-examination than stopped, but it's a step in the right direction.

Whereas the previous Gov kow-towed to everything that the Yankers wanted (but the Yankers would NEVER extradite one of THEIR citizens !) the new Gov takes a more sensible and pragmatic approach.

The previous Home Secretary (thats Alan "I used to be a shelf-stacker at Tesco" Johnson, not Jacqui "My husband watches pornos that you pay for" Smith !) is said to be furious.

What's wrong with being a Tesco shelf-stacker?

I once worked in Tescos and went on to a very successful international career.

And I did the same at the 50s equivalent of Tescos - Tylers in Cranleigh - earning enough to record a demo which eventually helped me to No1.

I'm beginning to realise why my local Tesco is such a disorganised place - half the flipping staff are day-dreaming about careers in the music industry!

Not alot ... but I doubt very much whether it qualifies you to be someone to take away MY freedoms !

btw - He was also a postmas (which is equally unqualified as far as my civil liberties are concerned).

I regard it as totally irrelevant.

Exactly ... thats my whole point !

Qualified at NOTHING - yet had the power to take away rights which we had held for more than 1000 years.

no,that was not your point. You seem to imply 'how can someone who stacked shelves at Tesco be Home Secretary'.

I was saying that whether or not someone stacked shelves in a supermarket means nothing, so why mention it.

Anyway this is so trivial. I need a nap.

That was entirely my point.

He was a shelf-stacker and also a postman. Neither of which qualifies him in any way to take away MY freedoms.

He only became an MP because he joined the Trade Union Movement (and they always "help along" fellow Commies).

He has no talent and no qualifications - it was absurd that he should be asked his opinion on anything, let alone our prized freedoms.

but it doesn't disqualify him either.

I worked in Tesco so you could say how did that qualify me to set up and run a company in Hungary, negotiate with the EU etc? Different parts of my life.

David ALSO wrote "I now find myself having to live off the state" (message board post No 56815)

So now, does Alan Johnson !

I think that says it all !

Oh dear ... I seem to have got my Home Secretary's mixed-up (but then there have been so many (ahm !) highly qualified ones its not surprising).

Alan Johnson isn't on the dole ... he's still representing (as any postman would do) his constituents in Hull (in the very next seat to Big Fat John (who, as a former steward / waiter, is also highly qualified*** !!!)

No ... it was Jacqui "Tony Blair is my friend and he campaigned for me but I got booted out anyway" Smith who is now on the dole, isn't it?

(For the avoidance of doubt this is the same JS as Jacqui "I used to rent my sister's spare room so I could claim second home expenses" Smith).

Remind me .... did she come immediately after Charles "never miss an opportunity" Clarke ? (He's now on the dole after getting booted at the election too, isn't he?)

*** I wonder if its true that every time Big Fat John walks past some MPs shout "Gin and Tonic, please, waiter" ?!

of course intelligence has nothing to do with background but there could be a case made for a person's upbringing influencing their later life psychologically.

Someone who has done a number of menial jobs may allow power to go to their head once they gain if they haven't had it before. The old USSR was full of such cases.

An example of the opposite could be Oz's Kevin Rudd who was brought up on a share crop farm with the family booted off when their dad died in a car crash, they had to lve in an old car for 6 months, he went to the plain ordinary Catholic schools , got jobs in government departments and worked his way up in the diplomtic corp, taught himself several languages before joining a politcal party and is now PM and a genuinly compassionate one because of his backgound albeit having to negotiate the perils of politcs.

Or my all time hero Tony Benn...born into great privilege, wealth and the aristocrcay and giving away all his titles so he can work to help the plight of ordinary people.

The point that I was making, veritas, is that many of these people ONLY got into Parliament (and "safe" seats) purely because they joined that commie-movement called the Trade Unions (paymasters of the Labour Party - who still control one-third of the votes).

It is not because they have any skills or talents - they simply climbed the greasy pole and kow-towwed to those intent on promoting "their own kind".

What we need is people with skills and talents - not people who are "promoted" because "they are one of us".

How so? By pointing out that I am (again) right ?

With such "talents" in the last government no wonder we are up sh** creek !
