Since when has the death penalty been re-introduced - and without trial.

These historic accusations need no evidence - and sadly these sorts of incidents will keep happening until the police actually investigate REAL child abuse like BABY P etc rather than chasing men who cant defend themselves because alleged incidents happened over 30 years ago.

This is a true blight on society. By all means chase Paedophiles who are offending by using subsequent evidence but stop harassing people for financial gain from 30 years ago.

I really dont believe that people suddenly remember they were abused 30 years or so on. My memories of 30 years ago did not suddenly appear today - they have always been with me and if I had been abused or attacked 30 years ago I would have reported it then. There is no reason to keep quiet - 30 years ago people did report abuse. The myth created by the POLICE that 30 years ago no one could report abuse is totally wrong.

I have no idea whether this poor chap was innocent or guilty - it does not matter - he has been "tried" by the POLICE and "Killed" by the POLICE. A very sad day for him, his family and friends. I hope his accuser is happy with the "result".

Killing someone is against the Ten Commandments - and I would hope that those who have done this hang their heads in shame. No one should be driven to take their own life like this. It is appalling.

We have a society which on one hand "sexualises children" ( see Daily Mail article and Old Bailey Trial ) and then on the other throws allegations around without evidence from 30 years ago accusing mainly men - and mainly educated men - of child abuse.......see the pattern emerging......

The POLICE are guilty in all of this. They ignore REAL child abuse - like BABY P because they have "not got enough resources" despite having £16 billion of spending each year. Not only that they can send 8 to 200 officers to arrest non criminals of silly offences like being a PEACE PROTESTER or chasing historic offences.

Well I have news for the PLOD - tonight in the UK there are hundreds of children like BABY P suffering whilst you fit up people from 30 years ago - I hold the POLICE responsbible for every CHILD being abused in our society today. They have ignored it and actively walk away from investigating current child abuse. It needs evidence and it is a messy business. So they take the easy route and chase cases from 30 years ago where no evidence exists - so it just becomes a slanging match - a 50.50 game of chance.

Very sad.

This is indeed a disgrace and historic allegations must have the law changed. Yes we need to bring real perpetrators to justice but no, this kind of tragedy must be averted. I warned about it ten years ago when it happened to me. I survived because I realised how unimportant such things were in the greater scheme of things but many, like this poor man, do not.

This is truely tragic.

Do these people not have a conscience - or is "pleasing their superiors" and "notching up a conviction - by the easier method possible" more important ?

Dont forget we have the deaths of two kids in Spain because of historic allegations leading to the arrest of her husband.....

It seems that they are taking a sledgehammer to crack a peanut.

The POLICE in my view are out of control and WE THE PUBLIC need to stand up to them
