Heartbreaking - and I hope the Mother realises that she should never have "made" her daughter go through what seems to have been a worse experience than the "doctors and nurses" one.
Children do not need dragging into adult courts. It should be banned. They should not be prosecuted like adults.
The Government must react to this now - before any other children get traumatised in this way.
This poor girl has had the most dreadful experience.
My Step Daughter has been so traumatised by her experience in 2004 that she has still not really come to terms with it. She is very sensitive and in her 30s but spends much of the day asleep and does not work since the trial. Anyone who has been seriously abused reacts in this way to the way in which these cases are tried. I only hope that the 8 year old forgets as she grows up and her teenage years wipe away the memory.
What are we doing to people both children and adults in our SICK AND BROKEN society ?
We need healing and love - not this awful condemnation and confrontational justice system where hurt and vulnerable people get traumatised all over again and where innocent people often find they have no voice and no way of protecting themselves against false allegations.
The whole "Legal Sex Industry" needs a shake up. It is corrupt from top to bottom and not fit for purpose. Today we see Leaders of Child Abuse Police team get charged with abuse and little girls unable to function after being forced into an adult trial......
The UK is totally broken.
