Where were the POLICE in Cumbria ? 13 Years, 11 Months ago
How did someone rampage for several hours without being "apprehended".....I wanted to say this yesterday but thought it would be in bad taste.

Anyhow - families of the victims have now come forward and said exactly that

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1283764...easons-massacre.html

It seems the Police locked themselves in their Police Stations on health and safety grounds ? and were no where to be seen until the bloke had killed himself except in helicopters safely out of gunshot range.

No attempt to roadblock him - or chase him and force him off the road ( after all he could not drive and shoot backwards - only in films is that possible for one man )

This is going to become a BIG issue in the next few days. Watch the MEDIA.

The POLICE will have some big questions to answer about this.

I believe they have one special constable on a mountain bike to cover the entire lake district, BR, trained in tackling aggressive and non aggressive fly tippers. Must have been one hell of an alarm call.

And lets not forget that the guy was a taxi driver. Obviously knowing all the best roads to avoid being caught. Lets take a few things into consideration here BR.

XCome off it BR. The Police in sleepy Whitehaven are hardly likely to be trained in catching a nutter with two firearms. They did what they could, but had to wait for better trained/equipt officers to enable an arrest.

The UK has a good record for avoiding this sort of thing, but once in a while it's going to happen. The cost of preventing it would far out way the risk factor.

Though I'm sorry for all those involved, there really is nothing you can do to prevent it.

I suggest you look up Cumbria Police.

It was noticable in the photos AFTER he was dead at least 50 heavily dressed police were on the scene standing around doing.....nothing.

The people of Cumbria pay their Council Tax like the rest of us - and deserve proper Police presence.

Surely the Police in the area would be as good at the local roads as a Taxi Driver ( and at speed ! )
because they would be patrolling them during the summer time and holiday time.

It amazes me that we spend £15 billion on police yet whenever something goes wrong they squeal there are not enough of them - yet their numbers are much higher than anyone could ever believe - just look it up !!

The BBC still is running a New Labour agenda and is still against the co-alition government - hoping it will fail. So we are not seeing coverage on TV about this - at least the press are getting hold of this - particularly the local press in the area.....

It will be HUSHED up. Like the MURDER in the G20 Demo etc.
