TOPIC: In Court Monday

In Court Monday 13 Years, 11 Months ago
My trial starts monday, after a year and a half wait.
I'd like to thank you all, especially JK for all the help and advice given during that time,it's been much appreciated.

"Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more"

No idea what will happen, but I've made my peace with god,now just have to see what evils the system will throw at me.

Good luck, and may real, impartial and righteous justice prevail. There's really little more that can be said. I can't see any reason at all why you should come here and falsely declare yourself innocent - there's so very little reason for you to do it. That, and a Presumption Of Innocence which should always be what everyone holds as the fundamental foundation of justice, prompts me to say "I believe in you and I hope it works out in your favour". So I'll be keeping everything {at least everything decent!} crossed for you. Once again, Good Luck.

I'm a big believer in the Jury system - put your faith in the Jury and they will not let you down.

I think most of the time they can see what Prosecutors are up to, and will not let it sway them.

Good Luck.

Terrible day in court.
Judge ruled we couldn't use any of her criminal past,or mention her previously documented involvement in a sexual case. There were other things too.

She did quite well in her cross examination, you'd never have guessed she was a convicted thug, and a burglar...especially as we couldn't mention it.

My brief said we lost the jury during her tears outburst,it was indeed well staged, the lure of the compensation seems to have had the desired effect.

Thanks to you all for your support.

I hate to tell you - even if the judge HAD allowed her past convictions to be mentioned, the prosecution would have claimed your abuse drove her to it.

Keep optimistic though.

And if the worst comes to the worst - it's a VERY exciting adventure!

Thanks again, you've been a real rock JK.I've made arrangements for my affairs to be put in order, but the idea of serving the 12 stretch my brief reckons I'll get is one adventure too far.Other arrangements have been made, death with dignity is far preferable to life under a cloud in her majesty's zoo.

Believe me IA, life inside is fabulous. I really enjoyed myself.
Fascinating, educational, inspiring, revealing, exciting, stimulating, useful, tragic, comic - I loved every minute of it and came out a far richer person.
If you cannot learn from it, there's something very wrong with you.
If it happens, and we all hope it won't, you'll have six rewarding and stimulating years of experience.
Chin up old boy.

Went a bit better today,it's d-day tomorrow!
The judge will finish his summing up,and the jury will be out before lunch.
I took the stand today,so quick, about half an hour for the two questioners, think I did ok,but again the weight of numbers won't help, even if it's all the same family.

I'll try to get a message to you if the worst happens, but can't promise,so assume that no news is bad news.

God bless you all again for your kind support, and I wish you all the best on this fine board.

Praying here for you.

Take the King of Hits postal address with you to court. You can always post a letter to JK if things dont work out - but hey keep positive !!

Weight of numbers should mean nothing - it should be about EVIDENCE and TRUTH and though I know that is not always the case as many show trials have shown us I am hoping you will be back on here later this week.

Just read this. I can only echo the support and sentiments already posted IA. I've been fortunate as I've never been to prison, but JK's entire attitude is the one I'd go with should it ever happen, and of course it could happen to anyone.

As I'm sure JK will agree...you really haven't lived unless you experience it all. I do know of two people who have served time inside, and they emerged better people for it...stronger, more resolute, and able to take any punch full on the chin...GOOD LUCK MATE!!

No news yet today.

But what a great post, FC. I too admire JK's take on his own experience.
