The "historic" convictions industry which has gone for "soft" targets - e.g people who cant defend themselves because too much time has passed has lost a landmark case in the Appeal Court in Ulster.

I think where there is hard evidence then prosecutions should proceed. But once again this is another case where it just involved "allegations" which it seems the Prosecution did not have to prove - the defendant had to defend against......and even though there was a clear FINANCIAL motivation behind the allegations the pair were originally found guilty because the JUDGE did not run the trial properly.

It has echoes of so many other cases where this is true and hopefully now this case and the directions can be used by those accused of such things.

There is a massive lack of JUSTICE in our legal system - where it seems it has been open season for many years. The press is full of "historic" cases every day - but it is noticable that more cases are collapsing because of lack of real evidence.
