TOPIC: God Save Our Queen!
#59737
God Save Our Queen! 13 Years, 10 Months ago
Watching an elderly lady in her 80s braving the elements in Canada makes me hugely proud of our Royal Family.
Duty? Work? They have given their all - especially Elizabeth who has never, ever put a foot wrong since she was a gorgeous young teenager in the first part of the last century.

God bless her and thanks to her and may all the moaning minnies shut up.

Nice try .... but I still don't think you'll get the knighthood, JK !

Yes, Elizabeth is an excellent and hardworking Queen.

But, have the others really 'given their all' ?

Andrew and Edward don't seem to do a lot - and Philip and Charles just follow their own particular interests.

Charles' interest in the Chelsea Barracks development may well come back to haunt him - as, undoubtedly, he will be included in the inevitable legal action by Lord Rogers and his chums; Charles' plea to the Qataris to abort the project has been accepted - by the courts - as the reason for its demise.

Still, the case will keep him busy for a while and perhaps make him less eager to involve himself in things that don't concern him; we do have a goverment, a judiciary and a large and generally capable civil service.

Totally agree.

And the 61 year old Prince will have only one defence i. e. he was speaking as an individual, just giving an opinion, like anyone else.

However - when/if he becomes King - the chap will again take on a less ceremonial role and act like a president.

Phillidopolus seems to do his fair share as well at nearly 90 - I think he has only recently had to slow down a bit. His only real crime to be a few misplaced curmudgeonly remarks.

Wills and Harry seem forever on holiday - they were both in South Africa (watching football) 2 weekends ago, and Harry was in New York (this past weekend).

Life in the Army these days is better than I thought !
10 minutes (for one of them) in Afghanistan - far from any bullets ! -and then swan around the world.

Nah....God Save Andy Murray...why on earth should the Queen get preferential treatment?

Besides I want to be saved. Surely God isn't so fickle he'll only save overpaid half German celebrities, whose job is to wave sweetly at people? GOD SAVE ME!!!

I think Wills and Harry are great and a credit to their parents. I reckon they will mature and be genuine about heir charity work and would have made their mum proud.
