Re:Midsomer Bloody Murders 13 Years, 10 Months ago
They are too long as well - a great schedule filler for ITV. Viewers can't remember whether they have seen that episode because the plots are all the same. Every one I see seems to start at a village fete. An 'old man' character is usually married to a much younger woman who is having an affair with the gardener or local playboy, who you know will get murdered.......etc etc

Yes and that is like being in heaven. A nice glass of Spanish or Portugese Red or a Mug of Butty Bach or a Glass of Weston's new PINK CIDER ( From Marks and Spencers ) to go along with it and this is the BEST SUMMER I can remember.
2010 - the SUMMER Of the CENTURY so far.
Do you like Midsomer ? the countryside is lovely !

Midsomer Murders is appalling. It's like some quaint English sitcom but without the laughs.I am sure in one episode I watched four people were murdered at the village fete by someone with a bow and arrow...cue the vicar and lots of middle class ladies saying 'how frightful.' I have seen more convincing am dram productions.

You see FC - that is the beauty of Midsomer - it is like watching an Am Dram on your TV which for many people is a quaint English custom.
It is very stress relieving because it is totally unreal. No one would ever in a beautiful village or small town ever run amok and kill loads of people ( Cumbria excluded and Hungerford and Dumblane ) etc etc. But not in such a TWEE way.
Drama is about escapism - and with a nice drink and few olives or Tyrells crisps Midsomer is the perfect TV programme for an evening. It is like wearing an old jumper that you love.
