This is doing the rounds on the Football Sites today - so probably totally untrue.....but interesting none the less.....

"Courts held a further 2 week gagging order on Steve Gerrard’s private life, turns out he got his wife’s sister pregnant.
Will hit the newspaper in 14 days, the judge held the gagging order to protect FA while they decide on Capello, and the future of English footy.
John terry and the England boys all know about it and JT had an argument with Capello because Gerrard got to keep the captains armband. The tension in the camp was down to JT and half the team saying Gerrard was a disgrace and the other half of the squad backing Gerrard. The press conference was related to the tension and JT wanted Gerrard exposed - they hate each other…
Just spoke with one of our PM’s - he’s backed up this story. He got word from someone in Beckham’s entourage that Rooney and JT had massive blow up at training and went for each other. Gerrard went to break it up but then he and JT got stuck into each other.
Before the Germany game, players could barely look at each other and didn’t hide it at final whistle when half of team followed Gerrard and Terry’s clique went in separate directions. Hence why squad didn’t go as one and acknowledge the supporters."

Sounds as if there could be a grain of truth in it somewhere.....because the team played badly and Would explain the JT outburst after he lost the armband for being naughty. If true then Capello has to resign in my view.......he should have taken the armband from Gerrard.

One small flaw in this idiotic rumour: Steven Gerrard's wife doesn't have a sister. She has two brothers, and neither of them is pregnant.

Perhaps we should have a Gay team ?

At least they would have some style (and probably no fat bald ones !)

I know someone who grew up with Steven and remains a very good friend. These rumours are usually started by the same Everton fans who used to claim Fowler snorted coke. This is the fourth so far this year about Gerrard. There WAS a clash between Gerrard and Terry during the World Cup, but that was over Terry's attempts to undermine Gerrard's captaincy and the press conference in which he pretended to speak for all the squad. Terry was regarded by quite a few players as a massive pain in the backside.

I'm a big Stevie G fan; he can screw anyone he likes as far as I'm concerned.

I think he has done Liverpool proud.

These rumours sweep football forums every day - but I thought I would copy one accross to see whether anyone on here with their ear to the ground had heard anything about the England team which may or may not have happened.

Note : Rooney and Gerrard have CANCELLED their massive London appearance scheduled for the middle of this month........so there is SOMETHING going on........they were being paid £500K so they would not have cancelled just because they did not win the World Cup.....

You know your stuff, Prunella ... I suspect that you've been in a few dressing rooms in your time (in the nicest possible way, of course).

Prunella's explanation sounds very plausible and a better bet than the "rumour"

Steven is a really nice lad - he was very badly affected when his parents split up early on in his playing career and I think that explains, to an extent, his rather reserved and somewhat world weary public persona. I always thought he should have stayed with Jennifer Ellison - she brought him out a bit and, healthily, she had her own career; his wife Alex (very orange - miaow!) shops a lot and 'gets fit' for holidays (I ask you!). But the amount of rumours that poor man has to endure is ridiculous - he really leads a very quiet life. As for Rooney, I think Steven gets on very well with the Shrek-like beast. I don't know anything about the London gig, but I assume they were advised it was bad PR after the WC debacle.

This rumour has been on the go since before the World Cup and the girl involved is reputed to be 16/17.

Cole, Gerrard and Terry have just distracted their team at a critical time and, although another poster's flipant asertion (Mrs. Capello/Rooney) is just that, it would not surprise me if it just turned out to be true.
