the veteran war correspondent has posted many insightful videos and blogs on the net.

I had forgotten about him until I stumbled across this quote from him on Facebook today:

“War is not about victory or defeat. It is about the total failure of human spirit. When you see the things I see, you would never support war ever again.”

This isn't a David Icke (sorry BR) but someone who has travelled extensively in war zones and seen things I sincerely hope most of us will never see.

Robert Fisk is a brilliant journalist and a very humane one. And he lives in the ME so he knows what he is talking about. His book Battle for Civilisation is quite amazing and he talks about himself and he's own reactions.

Most telling is how he was being harassed by an Afghani youth wanting food who finally turned around and punched and then was remorseful for days after as he realised he had reacted just like invading powers do.

someone who has seen a human body blown to bits is qualified to talk about war.
