Police confront Moat - expect a death soon 13 Years, 10 Months ago
This sickening story is about to reach a conclusion - and I fear the plods will not come out of it looking good.

Well, in the end, Moat comes across as a rather (pathetic ?) sad lonely person - not the "hard man" he seemed to want to portray.

I think the police handling of this has been very poor. They hardly seemed to know what was happening most of the time and in the end "ran into him" in the main street !

Lots of questions to be asked.

(PS - Is there anyone in that community that does not come across as an imbecile ?

The way they turned-up in the street - to get on the telly ! - or quite simply could not answer straight forward questions, was rather infuriating. Anyone see the reporter talking to "Paula", who was in conversation with her mother? Both, apparently made statements and then backtracked on what they had apparently said earlier.)

The morbid and salacious coverage on Sky website - even after the event is over - makes me fear for the sanity of its readership.

More Moats perhaps ?

I think there was a lot of innocence surrounding the village folk of Rothsbury. Watching the drama unfold I got the impression that they were more than willing to speak to the media when asked. It was almost voyeuristic telly last night watching the drama unfold. Yes there were young neds in the back wanting to be on telly but lets not forget that this was all taking place in the sleepy countryside. It must have been hard to believe what was going on. I have a real fondness for the people of the North East. Always friendly, helpful, down to earth cheery folk. The opposite of what you get in the inner cities.

... but they KNEW a dangerous person was on the loose ... within 100 yards of where they were .... and had been told to stay indoors (for their own safety) !
