Facebook caves in over demands for 'stay away from me, stay away from me' panic button 13 Years, 9 Months ago

Still puzzled as to how this is going to prevent tragedies like that 17 year old girl killed last year.

Are thousands of teenage boys going to be reported via this panic button for suspected grooming and have armed police visit their homes to check if they really are 16 and not 33?

I'm sure this is just what broken britain needs - even greater apartheid between adults and young people.

Probably what will happen is that CEOP will get overwhelmed with unwarranted panic calls. They will have to answer every one or face the media/legal consequences of not responding to the 1 in a million that might have prevented a tragedy.

And hopefully Facebook/CEOP/Jim Gamble will get sued into the dust by brave men such as Mirko Fischer : news.uk.msn.com/uk/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=153910460

Absolute madness. How many times will this 'panic button' be misused and abused ? Possibly leading to someone being wrongfully targeted as a possible sex offender.

This is just the gem they (police) need to boost their overtime and off-set those planned cuts !
