Well I thoroughly enjoyed the six part series and thought it was very well done.
They avoided the unfortunate and endless American episode almost entirely whilst keeping the essential plot elements.
They included my favourite scene from the book (Sariey Gamp falling out with Betsy Prig).
Tom Wilkinson was superb as Pecksniff - one of Dickens' finest and cleverest creations.
It took me six weeks to read the novel and only six days to watch the DVD (thank God for Amazon; it came from Holland with all the packaging in Dutch).
Why on earth don't the BBC reshow it? It hasn't dated in the slightest.
