If you never saw this - one of my favourite films of the past couple of years - please make sure you catch it. Sheen is brilliant - for me, the best of all his impersonations.

I propose that we make Brian Clough Engalnd manager !

Yes, I know he's dead - but let's face it even his corpse could have produced better results recently (and can probably communicate better than what we have now).

It's a great movie. I think Sheen does an excellent job capturing the essence of Cloughie.

One of the best moments is when he meets the Leeds team for the first time, and tells them exactly what he thinks of their achievements.

Looks like the movie is followed by a decent documentary too.

I met him as a 14 year old at Lincoln City, he opened a new stand and was absolutely superb. I got a Young Man out of him !

All of my pride at my son being born in Nottingham is down to Cloughie. Both of them stubborn little so and sos.

Well thankfully he didn't ask for a kiss. He tended to go for blokes in their twenties for that!

I'll tell you who I thought did REALLY well in that film- the actor who played Austin Mitchell. In the 1970s, he was an interviewer and presenter for Yorkshire Television, and went on to become the Labour MP for Grimsby, before retiring at this year's general election. He really hasn't changed much over the years.
The actor did the two studio interviews with Clough in the film, and took him off superbly.

Have you noticed that gingers (Austin was a ginger and is still a grey ginger) seem to age more slowly than the rest of us?

Oh I'm not so sure, JK. Chris Evans looks older these days, but I gather he's a much calmer and more pleasant person than he once was.
Gordon Strachan has aged well though. As has Steve Davis.

Austin Mitchell is still the MP for Greater Grimsby!

Right you are, sir! There was a lot of talk of him retiring shortly before the election, but he has indeed decided to stay on. Parliament could do with a few more mature, experienced people in there who have experienced a bit of real life.
