I don't normally do soaps, but have been following Doctors of late and they deserve a lot of credit for today's episode, especially as the Beeb have come in for criticism for their depiction of gay and lesbian people.
Today a woman went to see a doc as she was concerned about another woman. The doc said that he could understand that she was concerned about her friend, to which she replied 'she's not my friend, she's my wife.' The gay issue was not an issue for the rest of the episode and they were treated as a couple.
Well done, BBC. Treating us as normal people is a welcome change from decades of stereotypes.
