Want to save money Mr Cameron? 13 Years, 9 Months ago
Scrap these useless, pointless, stupid reviews into Venables, Iraq, Lockerbie, BP... it's the standard way for politicians to tell the media they are "doing something" - yeah, spending our money for one reason; to give the media a few more days of "good stories" after the original "good story" has run its course.
Moat anyone?
And have any of these reviews ever done anything?
No.

It also gets the subject off the backburner for a few months ... politicians can say "we're having an inquiry ... it would not be right to comment until the inquiry has reported".

Then ... of course ... when the inquiry does report - everyone has forgotten all about it !

In fact , there should be an inquiry into all these inquiries !

I suggest an inquiry into what Jon Venebles was doing at Lockerbie and why BP lobbied for the invasion of Iraq !
