Getting worried about the Coalition.

Their more liberal ideas seem to be disappearing as fast as Conspiracy Theorists who claim our Governments have no power predicted that they would......

Maybe ID Cards will make a comeback ? and surveillance of us all......

At least SOME of the surveillance is going - they have at least realised that spy-cameras (on roads) don;t make the slightest bit of difference to road accidents (except, perhaps, by causing some when people brake suddenly realising they are on camera !)

Having been the victim of a false allegation I feel this most deeply.

Accusers get anonymity, but the accused don't,hardly fair play.

Likewise; it is a disgrace and a sad indictment of the coalition; when the chips are down, they will obey the tabloids.

It seems a compromise may be forthcoming ... anonymity after charge - up until trial.

Need to think this one through !

Lets hope so - that is a start.

Is there a link for this ?

Trial by media needs to stop. Until a verdict there should be no coverage of ANY case in my opinion of any sort. The media seem to make it impossible these days for anyone to get a fair trial.

It is noticable that the POLICE employ more SPIN DOCTORS than even NEW LABOUR - because they try to win the cases BEFORE they go to court in the press. This is morally wrong. It means that a defendant gets no justice at all because the jury have already read of heard about the case FROM ONE SIDES POINT OF VIEW...........

Time for a media blackout until AFTER the cases. Then the media can report the verdict and facts as they see it. That is surely fair. It would mean no more lives being ruined by ANY types of allegations or poor Police work.

The POLICE want to "TRAWL" and it has been proved that TRAWLING is in fact very bad because it creates allegations that are wrong because of crazy rubber neckers trying to get in on things. Remember JACK was it ? in the Yorkshire Ripper investigation which stopped the Police getting the right person for a year.

Show trials are wrong - the POLICE are acting like the NAZIs with all their spin doctors.

Yes - www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-10760239

"The ministry said it had not ruled out anonymity between arrest and charge.

But Justice Minister Crispin Blunt has said he would rather put pressure on the media not to name suspects than bring in a new law".

the damage that so-called rape crisis centres and so-called experts do is alarming.

All reasoning goes out the window and anyone charged is immediately presumed guilty and al the experts claim that when a person is found in nocent or charges are dropped that it's some sort os scam

This is the opposite of good law and yet today another hideous false accusation is exposed...but what about all the ones that are not ?
