Not great. Very drawn out and predictable.

Too much emphasis on the eccentric Holmes and a poor plot - with the mandatory inept policeman.

Perhaps.

But, this episode had little to offer.

The Holmes/Watson relationship seems so dated now and the present day aspect doesn't help.

Previous movies and TV series were often better with the horse drawn cabs and the hisorical asides.

Well I quite enjoyed it; felt the relationship was amusing; yes, the Tongs are a standard demon but it all worked rather well and wasted a Sunday evening pleasantly.

I agree.

Another puzzle next week though with the solving of a 20 year murder and the rediscovery of an Old Master/picture.
