Thoroughly enjoyable AVATAR Friday evening 13 Years, 9 Months ago
Nothing worth watching on TV so I watched my DVD of Avatar; loved it in the cinema (in 3D) - loved it even more on my 17 inch MacBook Pro screen.

Have also got the DVD of The Hurt Locker to watch but it will take a lot to beat Avatar (and anyway Andy said Green Zone - which I loved too - was far better).

Agree with comment about Green Zone. Amazing movie though not quite the "Bourne " they tried to promote it as. I watched "Alice In Wonderland" on the Blu ray and had not much fun at all. Nice CGI but not much else. A shame because I had expected so much more.

Still haven't seen Avatar-waiting for it to return as it does every month to an Imax theatre in 3D. Love Imax as you are completely immersed within the film. Well that's what it feels like.

Alice In Wonderland is extraordinary in 3D and if you get the chance to see the Rolling Stones film in Imax it will blow you away. The sight of Mick Jagger prancing from one side of the stage to the other is amazing.

From a Toronto based website available in the UK, I have seen all the movies mentioned above (you get about 7 for $5 a month).

Only released yesterday, I viewed Knight and Day, with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz; this movie is not good - a series of car chases, shoot-outs and fights.

IMO, the best recent movie - by far - is Shutter Island with Lenardo DiCaprio and Ben Kingsley. It is a magnificent movie; I shall say no more.

DiCaprio's movie - Inception - is currently breaking US box office records. Deep and complicated; have a clear head when watching it; like many, I will need to watch it a second time....

Forget the rest!

DiCaprio's movie 'Inception' is outstanding.

In 2.5 weeks it has exceeded $200m at the box office in the US.

Oscars? There will be many.

I'm surprised you haven't bought a 3D TV yet JK.

Watching Avatar in 3D at the cinema was an amazing experience, don't know if I would enjoy it so much in 2D.

Has anyone else seen the 3D without glasses television on display in Harrods? It's only a working model but it shows the technology is almost there.

DiCaprio's extra pounds (since Titanic) have helped his gravitas.

He has joined Depp and Crowe as the best US film actors - the best since De Niro and Pacino.

Orson Wells and Marlon Brando (IMO) would be in the same league.

As would...Bogart, Gable, Tracy, Cooper and Peck.
