how long will the Coaltion last ? 13 Years, 9 Months ago
I give it about 12 months before the Lib Dems realise they will face a wipeout at the next GE.

It's BECAUSE the LibDems don't want to face another election (yet) that the coalition will last !

point taken ITK..

however I believe the Lib Dems will need to divorce themselves formally at some stage as the current Conservative policies-whether you like them or not-would be an anathema to their members ( now to the left of Nu Labour)

Cameron can still govern with a minority government..it's happened before with Harold Wilson who was on a knife edge and he called an election I think after less then 18 months and won a workable governing majority.

Whatever happens there will be another election probably within 2 years maximum and if the Lib Dems want to survive they will have to dissociate themselves from the Cons and some stage the glamour of being Deputy PM will wear of for Clegg as he realises he will get the blame for destroying his party.

That's my prediction !!..as usual these predictions when locked in as it is now automatically means everyone on this board owes me a crate of Bollinger when it comes true so start saving now.

(I must warn you I have been correct about every election result in Oz, UK and USA for 30 years now !...as with the current Oz election in 2 weeks despite the Murdoch media doing their best to destroy Labor-they will pick up an extra 2/3 seats)

Lib Dems will be fine.

It is NEW LABOUR who will get wiped out at the next election when people realise what a mess the UK is in was TOTALLY down to their stupid policies and the IDIOT BROWN !

Well, Labour are in a shocking state, and don't look likely to change things with any of their leadership candidates. So that's plenty of pressure off the current Government. And historically the electorate doesn't rebel during an economic crisis unless there's a plausible alternative. So by default the Coalition ought to last quite a while. A very low turnout is more likely than a big resentful turnout next time.

Absolutely.

The Coalition need to push the point harder than ALL the forthcoming cuts etc are down to Noo-Liebour - there is no choice ... and they should also emphasise that Lie-Bour were themselves planning these cuts anyway (but would not come clean before the election).

He could have done that before setting-up the coalition !
Both he and Nick Clegg realised that the current government - whoever / whatever it was - needed time to mend the current state we are in.

A minority gov would fall pretty quickly, achieving nothing, and probably bring back Noo Lie-Bour who would then introdfuce the very same cuts that the Coalition is now planning (and then blame them !!!)!
