I really recommend Simon Napier-Bell's book "I'm Coming To Take You To Lunch" about his successful plan to get Wham as the first western band to play China.
Good insight into Michael and Andrew Ridgley. Completely contrasting personalities that made them so successful.
there's a very amusing tale of Napier-Bell's impressive West End house that certainly impressed the Wham couple and maybe sealed the management deal... I had to visit several times delivering things and so on.
Simon was always appearing at the top of the grand staircase and walking down.
Only on reading the book did I realise the staircase went nowhere !
