Autographs 13 Years, 8 Months ago
As I am a nobody, I have never been asked for an autograph. But, my friend's son collects them - from pop stars to footballers.

When looking at his autograph book recently, it was obvious that some individuals sign their names legibly and often add a little note - 'To Bill' or 'Good Luck' etc. Most, however, just give a hurried squiggle which can't be read.

I know these are busy people; but why not give the autograph just a little more attention - for fans who may have waited hours?

JK - you have signed many, I'm sure; would you agree?

Yes although sometimes it's just not practical as one is rushing; I've been asked for autographs whilst peeing in a public toilet. And, of course, my autograph was used in court as evidence of my perverted desires.

This seems extraordinary.

How could a written signature be relevant?

But, you are right - most stars don't have/make the time for autographs these days.

I asked Dave Berry for an autograph in the programme he just ran off. When he was perfoming I just stared and not applause him.

Did they bring in a graphologist to analyse your signature, JK? The business has become such that "meet and greet" is now classed as something that is to be paid for. Gone are the days of waiting for your hero backstage and getting your ticket or album signed. Sad really.
