George Michael has been warned he faces jail after admitting crashing his Range Rover into a shop while under the influence of cannabis.

District Judge Robin McPhee handed Michael an interim six month driving ban and said he will be sentenced on September 14.

He told him: "I make it clear the options in respect of sentence remain open, including the power to imprison.

No ITK; it's whatever will get the Judge most publicity, showing he's not influenced by celebrity and can be as strict with stars ("Brave Judge" tabloid headline) as anyone.
I would consider it unlikely (George's expensive QC probably plays golf with the judge) but don't write it off; they do love those headlines. Why else become a judge?

Personally think jail would not be a productive punishment,but as mentioned above it could happen to get publicity for an otherwise obvious nobody.

Jail should be as a last resort,when all other usable deterrents have been exhausted.Think it only fair though that to protect the public,and himself a lengthy driving ban be put into force.He could so easily have involved others with his recklessness.

Getting banged up may prompt the great man to employ a bloody driver.

He's been done for this before, and the man is clearly a danger to himself and others.

He can afford a driver.

Surely a long driving ban is the answer here. Cannabis is taken by the many people and jail is surely an over-reaction to this. A waste of money for the taxpayer. Hurt George in the pocket himself rather than give the taxpayer a bill.

George would adore being "banged up". Also, since two far bigger superstars (Boy George and me) have broken the barrier of jailed pop stars, he could join our proud list. He would love it. Give him seven years I say!
