I don't know, BR. To me he seems a great advert for sacrificing enjoyment and happiness in favour of vanity. But I don't see what sticking Frankie Howerd's toop on his noddle does for his image of youthfulness. Actually, I'm baffled by his recent career: he obviously cares to a ludicrous extent about his performance in the charts, so why hasn't he really tried to make a hit record rather than just make another mediocre one and then over-promote it on cheesey ITV daytime shows? He's never been my cup of tea but it surely wouldn't be that tough these days to get him one song that would get him back in the charts? The voice is quite good when given a decent vehicle. He needs to get another producer like Alan Tarney or a savvy young writer and really go for it. There doesn't seem to be anything else in his life, so the lack of courage is a puzzle.

That age group don't actually buy anything ! - well maybe once a year at Christmas - they just look and say "ah, that's nice - you can hear all the words!"
Well I am a fan of Cliff.....and I dont watch daytime TV so dont really know what you are suggesting.
Yes - I agree he needs to get a cutting edge producer and some top songwriters and take a stab at the charts again because his voice is excellent still and his live shows are still better than most.
Shame that he is not producing the great music in the last 10 years that he did for the previous 40 years. Possibly he has got too big for his own boots in the last 10 years - because even if his body does say 23 his attitude says 70 - which is a real pity because he always seemed ambitious to me and I would have thought he would like more Top 10s in his 70s.
