Thought for footie fans .... 13 Years, 8 Months ago
Should Rooney's (latest) indiscretion (alleged !) exclude him from the team in future?

We have already seen his utter contempt for the fans (who had the gall to actually demanded a performance from this pityful collective of self-serving hypocrits).

How can any manager rely on a player of this nature ?

Er, what are you on about? And, before you begin drawing parallels with "Brave John Terry", don't bother because there are none.

In the context of playing for England, Rooney shagging a prosser doesn't matter one jot.

Only a small minded football hating idiot would suggest otherwise.

No. If it did, we wouldn't have a team at all!

Cole, Terry, Crouch (and many more) survived - as will Rooney. In the view of many, our best player...

Should the News of the World's latest method of boosting their circulation by destroying peoples' lives by revealing consensual, legal behaviour lead to their banning from publication for a few weeks?

Answer - yes, possibly, we need a couple of trial suits to decide.

Rooney's a sad idiot but that's hardly news. If Capello, on the other hand, got something as slight as a parking fine the football hacks would demand he resign, because the thin-skinned media crowd cannot stand the fact he treats them all with the disrespect they deserve. It's quite funny to watch.

Until lunchtime today the FA hadn't got a clue whether Rooney would even be going to Switzerland - and he hasn't got there yet !!!

All reports this morning suggested he would remain in the UK to take some sort of legal action (to silence the press).

What sort of "reliable" player is that for the manager or the team ???

How many of those players were threatening to withdraw from the team - at a days notice ?

Oh God ! No wonder we haven't won ANYTHING for fifty years !

HOW LONG is it since he scored for England? THREE years-ish ?

I see in today's papers that Sir Alex says Rooney will never have the Captaincy at Man Utd ?

Anyway - enough of that subject, I've got a new song to write.

I'm fusing The Kinks' "Apeman" (you know the one "I'm an apeman, I'm an ape-ape man, I'm an apeman) with some new lyrics ...

It'll be sort of question-and-answer (with the backing vocals supplying the answers).

I'll post the results shortly !

It's all getting quite brazen these days. Take this fellow, who's just signed for Liverpool, presumably to be nearer to Ryan Giggs:

Footballers (and everyone else) can have sex with anyone they like as long as it's legal, in my book. Whether or not it's moral depends entirely on their own chosen morality code. I think Stevie Gerrard is a class act.
