Like JK, I only see this every now and again, but he's dead right, at its best it outshines evening soaps in the writing, direction and acting. When they go for 'light-hearted' they really blow it (like most soaps), but they do some unusually gritty and 'controversial storylines incredibly well (and the production values are first class).
