I've got his new novel arriving on pre order from Amazon though I still have to finish Gerry Seymour's latest (one of my other faves) and, of course, the six Booker finalists are sitting here gazing at me...

There's a thing. I didn't know he was still living. I think I have to agree, not being able to think of any other that has contributed so much to literature still alive. I speak as someone who has met Martin Amis. Another great novelist but someone whom has always lived in the shadow of his father.
