TOPIC: Dear Pope

Dear Pope 13 Years, 7 Months ago
Bit of a shame he sounds like Lord Olivier in Marathon Man.

Is it safe?

For a horrible moment I thought the BBC news strap line said "Pope is lynching at Holyrood Palace".

May God have mercy on your soul. Providing you have one.

The BBC is having some terrible luck with interviewees today - one suddenly started moaning about her estranged husband, another waffled on about her business affairs, another seemed more eager to discuss Diana Spencer than the Pope... They never learn!

Pope and Archbishop - ah, I've sussed how organised religion works. Just as Justice is successfully buried by the suffocating boredom of words in court, so the truth is smothered by truisms in religion. "We must be good; Jesus is the way forward; God bless Mohammed; Wailing Wall and hats and curls; rosaries and prayers... truisms, cliches, polite manners and elderly dignity". That's religion; no passion at all; the Devil has the passion and his servant the Serpent Media knows how to use it.

Simple slogans shouted loudly will beat them every time. Mob rools OK.

Oh JK !!!

St Cliff did admit the truism that the DEVIL had all the good tunes ( Why should the devil have all the good music ? - Larry Norman ) but I do take issue.

The whole point of Christianity ( and to a certain extent all religions ) is to connect with the spiritual God. To do this none of us can admit to being perfect - because it is just not possible.

It is a matter of Faith and Learning.

Gordon Brown and Tony Blair are now sitting next to each other waiting to listen to the Pope.......that is some reconciliation after the explosive book !!!!

SKY's coverage is brilliant and I am really looking forward to the EVENING SERVICE from WESTMINSTER ABBEY - some great hymns are going to be sung and a Setting by STANFORD of the service. The UK does Cathedral Services better than anywhere in the World.

Anyhow we have posters of "The Pope is Anti Christ" here is swinging London - which is laughable. Probably all journalists..........

Going to be an exciting evening with some lovely music.

As Dave Allen once observed, the hierarchy also works in terms of how much colour you can sport with your frocks. The Pope has a smashing wardrobe - it must take him ages to choose what to wear.

I wonder what B-Liar made of the Pope's statement that you should stand-up for your beliefs and not exclude them from political life?

Especially apt, when speaking to someone who kept his true beliefs fairly secret - as he thought it politically expedient !

I wonder if the Queen's "people" ring up and enquire what he's wearing .... so they don't clash ?

After meeting Susan Boyle and Michelle Mcmanus, the Pope was said to be not the least bit surprised that Scottish Priests were shagging young boys!
