A wonderful aspect of prison... 13 Years, 7 Months ago
is the postbag (George will be getting hundreds of letters and will be delighted by rediscovering snail mail). I used to get more letters daily in Belmarsh than the rest of the jail multiplied by ten, according to the Governor.
Anyway, I look forward to my Amazon packages arriving and today the new John Le Carre came.
The only problem is... I'm still reading Seymour's fabulous Dealer and Dead; I have 6 Booker finalists to enjoy before October... not enough time, oh Lord!

Same problem every year JK,never enough time to enjoy the finer things in life.

As for George, let us hope at least he can take something from all this dreadful experience.

You should write to GEORGE.......and tell him everyone on here is thinking about him and praying for him - I am sure it would mean something to him from one of his "Peers". I am sure his mail will cheer him up as well. The fans will be horrified by how he has been treated by the State.

When considering such things the courts should consider the amount of joy and happiness and good things that a person has done for others. George ( and yourself ) have brought much happiness into the lives of other people.....and so deserve at least the same chances as ordinary people in the Justice System

AS I pointed out last week - there are some SERIOUS CRIMINALS who avoid prison because Judges tend to give up on them in my view ......

Only dangerous people should be locked up. The Justice System is FAT and BLOATED on locking up people who should not be there.

BR-on the whole it's only the poor, disadvantaged and mentally ill who go to jail. The rich (in most cases) can avoid it.

So much depends on the quality of the legal help you can hire. I have no problem with those who can hire the best avoiding jail but everyone should have the same advantage.

The very fact that the media has a role in law playing is an anathema.

At times, the law is an ass.
