I think around £20bn would be a conservative estimate.
This would help massively the debt crisis and be very popular with everyone.
Surely this is a better bet than the Post Office for making cash ?
I vehemently disagree BR.
There are eager buyers for the BBC..James Murdoch and other destroyers.
You want advert riddled TV of the lowest kind...sell the BBC.
You want US crap and permanent cheaply made reality shows...sell the BBC.
I can tell you now-it will not happen. For one thing..if Murdoch doesn't get it he won't let anyone else.
Why ?...just as the dimwits in Oz wanted to sell the government station The ABC, big Kerry Packer kicked up such a stink because he realised his own TV network would loose millions in advettsing to a privatised ABC until they were driven down to his low rent entertainment level.
Besides..I paid taxes and TV Licence in GB for 40 years and I part own the BBC and I don't want more of our state owned assets sold.
There is only buyer eager to sell the BBC...Murdoch. You should worry.
