phone tapping 13 Years, 6 Months ago
this can be viewed on-line at either site(should be up in the next hour) but not sure if it's blocked that end as the BBC on-line is here :

www.abc.net.au/foreign/

www.iinet.net.au/my/media/abc/

Interesting Oz show 'Foreign Correspondent' about the phone tapping..interviews with ex-cop Brian Paddick, Max Clifford, Labour MP.

The most dis-engenous..Kelvin McKenzie laughing off the idea that Murdoch's newspapers could influence people's vote. What a disgrace he is.

The BBC is under a real threat with Murdoch's power and influence over the Tories.

be afraid..very afraid

The problem is that democracy is under threat because the BBC is also a threat.

Murdoch should be stopped from owning more than one media company in the UK. This rule applies in the Football League where you can only own ONE club. Therefore, the new Government should stop Murdoch from cross owning media companies.

He should choose between either having THE SUN And TIMES or SKY. Not all three.

In addition the BBC should be scaled down and its entertainment channels sold off including the pop radio channels except the minority Radio 6.

If it is funded by taxpayers then it should not compete with private enterprise - on that I can agree with murdoch.

The ELECTRIC PROMS have been an event that has been subsidised against the others in music - and meaning that the October event has undermined attendances in Camden at independent events that are not subsidised. Although some venues near the Roundhouse flyered for after show crowds reasonably successfully. Though with this year's artists being MOR and attracting an elderly audience probably even Camden's music and club scene has probably not seen any benefit.

I realise you dislike Murdoch and I can understand that - but surely the best way would be to limit his power over the media rather than throw him out altogether. He is entitled to run a company in a democracy.

The BBC has undermined itself. Its website is superb - its drama department superb - but its political and religious departments are appalling PC and extreme left wing. They have helped successive governments go to War and have parotted the mantra of the Police State far too much for a broadcaster that should be unbiased. Every time they broadcast about "Al Quaida" they basically undermine democracy - because they have no proof at all about this organisation. It does not exist - show me its doctrine - its headquarters - its leadership - its policies - its aims - and how it works. I have seen not one bit of evidence that is credible that shows that Islamic Extremism is run by an organisation called Al Quaida - which as we all know is a CIA name for THE LIST/THE BASE of people they wanted to work with against the Russians in Afganistan.

The BBC continues to put out propaganda for the NWO run Police States and big financial institutions. The BBC does not cover BILDERBERG - does not ask questions about MANDY and OSBORNE and their contacts in big business - it does not challenge any politicians about the BANKSTERS and their bonuses and that they have taken hundreds of billions away from the Poor who are on benefit to pay themselves million pound salaries.

Murdoch is a small part player - he just undermines society. The BBC has status and so can do more damage. The Times and Sun are tomorrows' fish and chip paper. The BBC is quoted endlessly and listened to by billions worldwide.

I wouldn't agree he is a small player.

I'd say he is one of the most powerful if not the most powerful men in the country and he doesn't even live or have the slightest bit of loyalty to the UK (nor Oz or the USA for that matter). Hates royalty..wants to dumb down Britain to NoTW level and pander to the handful left who read the Times.

If you watch the piece the Labour PM who is calling for a judical enquiry into phone tapping says his own party and every other party is frightened of Murdooch and News Corp as they can make or break them.

He did it PM Kevin Rudd in Oz who openly defied him...destroyed his leadership in 2 years.

He is agitating to own as much of the UK media as possible including all of BSKYB..and I reckon that's the price Cameron will pay.

And you will see the Democrats lose seats on Tuesday because of Murdoch's Fox News endless lies about Obama's moderate health care changes which they liken to communism.

The man is a menace and has too much power..more than any man should have.

Worst of all..he is dumbing down the public wherever he has power.

He is so dangerous because the one place he wanted ...China..ran rings around him and sent him packing so while he 'dumbs down' people elsewhere, they are steaming ahead
