Quite an oddity, this chap. I'd put him in the same category as Alan Conway, that little bloke who went round impersonating Stanley Kubrick, and Joe Gould, the New York hobo who convinced a couple of journalists he was writing a mammoth 'oral history of the world' and when he died they discovered the book had almost certainly been a figment of his imagination. (Very good movie about this a while ago - called 'Joe Gould's Secret' -starring Stanley Tucci and Ian Holm.)
Anyway, F Gwynplaine MacIntyre (sometimes known as 'Froggy') has been writing sci-fi stories and dubious film reviews - along with the kind of paranormal 'news' stories that would have BR's head blow off - for years, often slipping in strange and arcane - and frequently contradictory - details about his identity and his life as he goes. He also had a habit of suddenly popping up in various internet forums to start a huge argument and then disappearing just as suddenly again. Now he seems to be dead. Or is he? Did he really exist in the first place? It could make another movie. Quite a mystery...
